Rounded Buttons

Step 1:

Open a new Image and fill it with the background color or texture of your choice.

(Hint: goto our fill pattern tutorial to learn how to create the background faster)

Next edit the colors on your tool bar and make the top box a dark color and the bottom box a light color.

Create a new layer. LAYER > NEW > LAYER (Shift+Ctrl+N)

Step 3:

Then select the circular marquee from the toolbar and create a circle.
( Hint: if you hold down the ctrl button while making your circle it will create a perfect circle )

Then use the granite tool to fill the selection from top left to bottom right.

Step 4:

Now with the circle still selected. Goto SELECT > MODIFY > CONTRACT. Enter in a value of around 3.

After that is complete you need to select the granite tool again and fill the selection from bottom right to top left.

Step 5:

With the area still selected, goto SELECT > MODIFY > CONTACT and enter in a value of 4 again.

Then select the granite tool and fill it from top left to bottom right once again.

Final:

This is what your finally image should look like.
