Cropping
7. Cropping
is when you want to include only a specific part of an image and
get rid of the rest.

Example
7a - The original image.
Example
7b - Using the Marquee Tool to select the part you want to keep.
Go into Image menu and choose Crop.

Example
7c - Now only part of the original image is kept.
Feathering
8. Feathering
is when you want an image to have a very soft border. But don't
over use it.

Example
8a - This is the original image. It has very solid edges and look
very ordinary. Nothing special about it.

Example
8b - Select the Marquee Tool. Enter a number in the "Feather:"
box. You have to enter number before you select the image or it
will not work. After you enter the number, select the entire image
by drawing a giant square over the image. You should notice the
selected edges are rounded. Now Edit and Copy the
image to a new document.

Example
8c - Paste the selected image to a new file. Now this image
has very soft edges. It looks like a picture from your dream!?
Lenz
Flare
9. Lenz Flare
is a very useful filter that creates special lighting effect. It
makes your image look more realistic than it is.

Example
9a - Original image without using any filter.

Example
9b - Go into Filter menu, Renter and choose Lenz
Flare. Pick the desire Percentage, Lens Types and click OK.
Now the above image looks much more realistic in just a few seconds.
Pretty cool huh? But again, do not overuse it like many people do.
These
are only a few things you can do with Photoshop. The rest is up
to you to discover them.
