Manipulating Layers

1. The manipulation of layers in Photoshop is very useful. Every time you insert a new text or pasting a new image on your existing background, Photoshop will create a layer automatically. If you have 2 different images and you want to put them all in one place. By manipulating different layers, you can move, scale and do various things.

Example 1a - A Text Layer 1 and a Leaf Layer 2 are placed on the Background Layer.

Example 1b- By selecting Layer 1 and using the Move tool. Layer 1 was moved up closer to the leaf.

Linking Layers

2. Do you wonder how sometimes you want to move more than just one layer at a time? You can easily do that by "Linking" the layers together.

Example 2a- Click on the box next to the "Eye" image. A "Chain" image is placed in the box showing that specific layer is linked to your current layer. Above example shows that all Layer 1, 2 and 3 are linked. Now you can move, scale, rotate and do various things to all 3 layers at the same time.
