If you've heard rumors about a more recent Windows 95
than Windows 95, here's the scoop: There is a newer version of Windows 95 called
Windows 95b (or OSR 2 = OEM Service Release 2), but you can't get a copy of this update
off the shelves of a software store at this point. The reason is Windows 95b is an update
that is being released to computer manufacturers to support certain new hardware and most
notably to save disk space on large hard drives by utilizing a newer file system called
FAT32.
So, don't be surprised if the Windows 95 that comes with your next new system has an
internal version of 95b or even 95c (OSR 3).
